Our Office

  • Dilated Examination- This allows a more thorough view of the retina. A dilated examination can detect many conditions within the eye that may not be detected otherwise. Your close up vision will be impaired for approximately 2-4 hours. You should still be able to drive unless the doctor states otherwise. You will also be sensitive to light for the same amount of time until your pupils return to their normal sizes. We will provide free sunglasses.

  • Optomap- The ultra-wide digital retinal imaging system captures more than 80% of your retina in one panoramic image. The optomap enhances your eye doctor’s ability to detect even the earliest sign of disease that appears on your retina which allows your doctor more time to review your digital images and educate you about the health of your eyes. Unlike dilation, the optomap will not affect your vision. In some cases, the doctor may still need to dilate your eyes. This is at the discretion of the doctor. Another advantage to having the optomap performed is the ability to document and compare retinal images between the two eyes simultaneously and also from year to year.

  • Visual Field Test- During visual field testing, a highly sophisticated computerized instrument with the latest technology provides a thorough check for loss of central and peripheral/side vision. Visual field testing can help in the early detection of eye diseases that can lead to blindness. Some of these diseases include glaucoma, brain tumors, tears in the retina, and optic nerve diseases. These diseases can be prevented if detected early with this test. In addition, visual field testing enables the doctor to better diagnose some of the causes of headaches.
